Do it by hand
Here is every step to share one post from TikTok to LinkedIn yourself.
Step 1: Get the clean file
Use the video file you made before you posted it. Look in your phone's camera roll or your editing app. If you tap Save video inside TikTok, that copy has the TikTok logo on it, so try not to use it.
Step 2: Check the shape
You can post your tall 9:16 video as it is. Or crop it to 4:5, the shape Dandelion uses for LinkedIn posts.
Step 3: Add words on screen
Add captions so people can follow along with the sound off.
Step 4: Upload it
Open LinkedIn and start a new post. Tap the photo or video button and pick your video.
Step 5: Write a new post
Write in your own voice, with "I" or "we". Share one lesson from the video, with a real example. You get up to 3,000 characters.
Step 6: Make the first line strong
Only about 140 characters show before "see more". Make that first line count.
Step 7: End with a question
Ask what other people think. Then add 1 or 2 hashtags at the end.
Step 8: Post it
Read it one more time, then tap Post.
Good to know
- Use short lines with space between them. Walls of text are hard to read.
- Links work in LinkedIn posts, so you can add one if it helps.
Or let Dandelion do it
Doing it by hand works, but it takes time for every post. Dandelion can do it for you. Set it up once, and each new post is handled like this.
Step 1: Add your TikTok
Paste your TikTok profile and say it is your own. Dandelion checks it for new videos about every hour. You can also upload a video yourself.
Step 2: Pick where it goes
Turn on Autoshare from TikTok to LinkedIn. You set this up one time. After that, each new post gets the same care.
Step 3: Dandelion makes the LinkedIn post
It gets a copy without the TikTok logo and fits it to 4:5. It writes a first person post with one lesson and a question at the end, in your voice. On paid plans, it can add captions to the video.
Step 4: It checks every post
Before anything goes out, Dandelion checks the shape, the length, and the sound. If it sees another app's logo, it stops and asks you for the clean file.
Step 5: It picks a good time
Each app gets its own good time to post. Posts on the same app stay at least 1 hour apart. After about 30 posts on an app, it uses the times that work best for you.
Step 6: Say yes, or let it post
New posts wait in Needs your OK until you say yes. On paid plans, you can turn on autopilot. Each autopilot post waits at least 15 minutes, so you can still stop it.
